Microsoft has filed plans with the US Army Corps of Engineers for a new six-building data center campus located west of Skipwith Road and north of Butler Farm Road in Chase City, Virginia. This expansion, designated as LYH03 Bailey, is situated on 369 acres of greenfield land and is intended to address the rapid growth of Microsoft's established southern Virginia Regional Network Group. The new campus will consist of six buildings of equal size, identified as LYH03-08. The project is expected to result in the permanent loss of over 5,000 feet of streams and wetlands. This development marks Microsoft's third data center filing in Mecklenburg County within the last 12 months, further solidifying its presence in the Richmond market.
