The VA12 Data Center is a planned addition to the rapidly expanding Gainesville campus in Northern Virginia, an area renowned as the world’s largest and most connected data center market. Strategically proposed for a 103-acre site, VA12 will be part of a visionary 336MW hyperscale campus designed to support the future demands of AI, cloud computing, and enterprise workloads.

Once developed, VA12 will offer 96MW of critical IT load across 336,000 square feet of IT space, housed within one of four planned two-story buildings reaching up to 75 feet in height. The design supports high-density deployments and advanced cooling technologies, including direct liquid cooling, to maximize performance and energy efficiency.

The facility’s power infrastructure is planned to include four feeders from Dominion Energy, each serving 24MW of IT load via 230kV lines. Six pad-mounted utility transformers will support the initial phase, with the infrastructure configured in a distributed redundant topology to ensure future reliability.

Security and operational excellence are central to the VA12 concept, featuring multi-layered physical protection, real-time surveillance, and high-availability standards. The proposed location is adjacent to major fiber routes and a planned Dominion Energy substation, ensuring robust connectivity and low-latency access to global networks.

In line with NTT’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, VA12 is designed to meet LEED standards, emphasizing its position as the world’s third-largest data center provider. This future-ready facility will be tailored for hyperscale growth and digital transformation once developed.
