The proposed site, totaling 28 acres, was formerly occupied by various Fairfax County Police Department training facilities, including a driver training track and a firearms training center.

Fairfax County is considering selling a portion of this land to facilitate the data center project, with the sale intended to fund the construction of a new, modern police training campus.
