IREN (Iris Energy)

IREN is developing a cutting-edge 75MW liquid-cooled AI data center, named Horizon 1, at its Childress site in Texas. Scheduled for completion in the second half of 2025, this facility will feature advanced direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology, supporting up to 200kW per rack. It is designed to host Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, making it ideal for high-performance computing and AI workloads.

The project represents a significant investment of $300-350 million and is part of IREN's broader strategy to expand its capabilities. Horizon 1 will be integrated into the existing 420-acre Childress site, which has a total capacity of 750MW, with 450MW currently energized.

This initiative underscores IREN's commitment to innovation and sustainability, leveraging renewable energy and advanced cooling solutions to meet the growing demands of AI and high-density computing.
