Skybox Datacenters is planning a significant new data center campus in San Angelo, Texas. The proposed development encompasses approximately 350 acres of city-owned land located northeast of the city, near US Highway 67 North and City Farm Road.
The project is slated to feature six four-story buildings, each designed to offer 248,000 sq ft (23,040 sqm) of space. This development will utilize the available capacity from the nearby Red Creek substation, which currently operates at only about 10 percent of its total capacity.
The San Angelo city council has been actively involved in the process, with a unanimous approval in May 2025 authorizing the city manager to negotiate a purchase and sales agreement with Skybox. Further discussions regarding a proposed zone change for the property are ongoing.
Skybox Datacenters has a track record of developing data center campuses, including previous collaborations with Prologis on projects in Texas, Virginia, and Illinois. The company has also been involved in transactions such as the sale of a data center in Houston to Element Critical.
