Big Bend Telephone (BBT)

BBT Midland 1, located in Midland, Texas, is a modular data center deployed by Mission Critical Facilities International (MCFI) for Big Bend Telephone (BBT). Situated in the Permian Basin, this facility aims to enhance communications and safety for the oil and gas industry and West Texas communities. The data center is master-planned for a total of 440 racks and 5MW of critical power. The initial phase includes 1MW of power and 88 racks, with design flexibility for scaling. It is intended to serve as an aggregation point for data from the region. The facility also features a 120 ft. tower available for lease. BBT Midland 1 is reportedly the first multi-tenant facility in the area, addressing a demand identified through five years of market research. The data center enables improved connectivity at oil and gas wellheads, supporting applications like augmented reality for enhanced work safety and communications.
