Google is expanding its data center presence in Midlothian, Texas, with plans for a fifth building on its campus. The new facility, named Sharka Data Center - Building 5, is a significant investment estimated at $880 million. Construction commenced in late January 2026 and is slated for completion by February 24, 2027.

This new data center will be a single-story structure covering 288,000 square feet (26,756 square meters). The investment encompasses the core, shell, and interior finishing of the building, along with necessary site improvements. The project is located at 3441 Railport Parkway in Ellis County, which is the established address for Google's Midlothian data center campus.
