The SDN Communications LaMesa Data Center, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is a state-of-the-art facility designed for reliability and security. Originally built in 2012, it serves as a colocation facility, data center operations hub, disaster recovery site, and point of presence. The data center features 12-inch-thick concrete walls, no windows, and stringent, multi-layered security controls including biometric access and dual authentication. Its recent expansion, La Mesa II, doubles the existing data center space, adding 25,000 square feet to accommodate increased power density and future growth. The facility boasts redundant utility operations, duplicate electrical feeds, an onsite generator, and advanced temperature and humidity control. It offers diverse access to metro, statewide, and regional fiber networks, including direct access to content delivery networks and Tier 1 network providers. The 66-acre site also provides easy access to major South Dakota Interstates I-29 and I-90.
