Amazon AWS Susquehanna Hyperscale Campus

This data center campus, known as Cumulus before acquisition, was purchased by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2023 from Talen Energy Corporation. The 1,200-acre site is located in Pennsylvania and draws power from the neighboring 2.5GW Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES), a nuclear power plant. Talen began construction in 2021 and completed the initial phase, a 48MW, 300,000 square foot (28,870 sqm) hyperscale facility, in early 2023. Plans call for further development to reach a total capacity of 960MW.
