Bitfarms is developing a high-performance computing (HPC) and AI-focused data center campus at Scrubgrass in Venango County, Pennsylvania. The site, formerly the Scrubgrass Generating Plant—a waste coal-fired power facility—was acquired from Stronghold Digital Mining in March 2025. This strategic move aligns with Bitfarms’ broader transition from pure Bitcoin mining to diversified AI infrastructure development.

The Scrubgrass campus offers direct access to 85MW of energy capacity, with potential scalability through grid imports. Bitfarms plans to leverage this vertically integrated power infrastructure to support energy-intensive workloads, including AI training and Bitcoin mining. The facility is part of Bitfarms’ 955MW U.S. development pipeline, which also includes the Panther Creek site.
