Amazon AWS - Homer City Bruner (Bldg A)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is constructing a significant data center campus in Homer City, Pennsylvania, located approximately 50 miles east of Pittsburgh. The project, situated on 1,100 acres across Center and Blacklick Townships, will feature 36 two-story data center buildings, each approximately 225,000 sq ft. The campus will also include ancillary office and storage space, electrical substations, and redundant electrical generation.

The Homer City campus will be powered by a new 4.5GW natural gas power generation facility, with most energy dedicated to the data centers and over 1GW fed back into the grid. This site previously hosted the Homer City Generating Station, a large coal power plant. Construction is planned in four phases, commencing in December 2026 and concluding by June 2036. AWS has committed to a community benefits agreement to ensure local advantages and is part of a larger $20 billion investment by Amazon in Pennsylvania.
