Flexential is expanding its footprint in Hillsboro, Oregon with the development of Hillsboro 6, a two-story, 350,000-square-foot (32,516 sqm) data center designed to deliver 27MW of IT capacity. Located directly across from the company’s Hillsboro 1 facility, this new site reinforces Hillsboro’s position as a strategic alternative to Silicon Valley, especially for customers with trans-Pacific connectivity needs.

The project reflects Flexential’s “right-sized” development philosophy—prioritizing scalable, customer-focused infrastructure over hyperscale sprawl. Hillsboro 6 joins a growing cluster: Flexential already operates four facilities in the area, with Hillsboro 5 (36MW, 358,000 sq ft) nearing completion. Collectively, the Hillsboro campus will exceed 1.18 million sq ft and 113MW of capacity.

The region’s data center vacancy rate was just 0.2% in early 2025, underscoring strong demand. Hillsboro absorbed 48.4MW of new capacity in the first half of the year—roughly 10% of its total inventory. Flexential’s expansion is backed by GI Partners and Morgan Stanley, and aligns with broader growth across its 40 data centers in 18 U.S. markets.
