Meta is developing a new AI-optimized data center campus in Bowling Green, near Toledo, Ohio. This 715,000-square-foot facility will be located on a 280-acre site in Middleton Township, Wood County. The project represents an $800 million investment and is expected to be operational by 2027. It will be Meta's second data center in Ohio and its 28th worldwide.

The campus is designed to run on 100% renewable energy, aligning with Meta's sustainability goals. It will create approximately 100 permanent jobs and employ around 1,000 workers during construction. The site was chosen for its excellent infrastructure access, renewable energy availability, and strong local talent pool. This development highlights Meta's commitment to expanding its global infrastructure to support its platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
