EdgeConneX New Albany - Phase II

EdgeConneX is developing a major data center project in New Albany, Ohio, transforming a former warehouse into a high-density digital facility. Phase I of the initiative involves converting a 524,000 sq ft building into a modern data center expected to be completed by April 2026. Phase II will expand the campus with a new 700,000 sq ft, two-story structure and a dedicated 80,000 sq ft energy center housing natural gas generators. Together, these developments will total more than 1.2 million sq ft of infrastructure across multiple buildings.

To support the site's energy needs, EdgeConneX—through its PowerConneX affiliate—is seeking permits for a 120MW natural gas power plant. This facility is planned for construction within the New Albany International Business Park and is expected to go live as early as Q1 2026. The campus will offer scalable power delivery and large data workloads, strengthening the region’s capacity for hyperscale and enterprise-grade services.

This project represents a strategic expansion by EdgeConneX into Ohio, marking its first presence in the state. With a $137 million investment across 270 acres, the development taps into proximity to fiber routes and regional connectivity, positioning New Albany as a future hub for data-centric innovation.
