Amazon Web Services (AWS) is planning a significant data center expansion with a new campus located in Trenton, Pennsylvania. The proposed site spans 601 acres in Madison and St. Clair Townships, Butler County, just south of Trenton. This undeveloped land is situated near Wayne Madison Road and Hawkins Road, close to the Great Miami River. Amazon reportedly intends to construct 18 buildings, each approximately 220,000 sq ft, resulting in a total built area of around 3.96 million sq ft. The location benefits from proximity to a Duke Energy substation and the 692MW Madison Power plant. While Butler County officials implemented a temporary moratorium on data centers, Amazon's project is moving forward. The city of Trenton acquired a portion of the site in October 2025, though the full extent of AWS's plans was not initially disclosed. The campus is slated to be the end user for this development.
