Compass Datacenters has proposed a 333-acre data center campus in Statesville, North Carolina, marking its second major development in the state. The site, located on Stamey Farm Road and owned by the Stamey Land Company, would host five data center buildings totaling approximately 1.34 million square feet. The location is adjacent to a Duke Energy substation, and Compass plans to use air-cooled systems to minimize water consumption.
JLL is marketing the site as a strategic data center opportunity with up to 500MW of power capacity. Compass already operates a fully leased campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Statesville proposal follows the recent withdrawal of Tract’s 400-acre data center plan in nearby Mooresville, also in Iredell County, part of the Charlotte metro area, North Carolina’s largest data center market.
