Revitalization Unlimited is proposing a significant data center development at 304 W. 10th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The project aims to replace the existing three-story Western Newspaper Union Building with a 20-story facility, totaling 142,085 sq ft (13,200 sqm). This new development is planned to offer 30MW of capacity, with 18 floors dedicated to data center operations and retail space on the ground floor. The facility is slated to be equipped with natural gas fuel cells. The site, located in Kansas City's Library District, has a rich history, with the original building dating back to around 1900. Revitalization Unlimited, an investment fund focused on preserving historically significant US real estate, acquired the property in January and intends to develop it into a modern data center. The project is currently in the proposal stage, with community feedback being gathered. The location is also notable for its proximity to Netrality's carrier hotel facility.
