Amazon Web Services (AWS) is reportedly investing $750 million in a significant data center project located at 1001 Industrial Park Drive, Clinton, Mississippi. The project involves the redevelopment of a 730,000 sq ft building on a 55-acre site, which was previously occupied by Milwaukee Tool. AWS acquired the 99-acre plot of land on February 13. The Clinton Board of Aldermen has approved a Fee-in-Lieu of Taxes agreement for the project, which is still awaiting approval from the Mississippi Development Authority. While specific details on the data center's size and power consumption have not been disclosed, the site was originally constructed in 1972. This initiative represents a substantial investment in the Jackson, MS market, transforming an industrial site into a modern data center facility.
