Google Van Buren Campus

Panattoni, a logistics real estate firm, is planning a significant data center development known as Project Cannoli in Van Buren Township, Michigan, located on the western outskirts of Detroit. The proposed campus is slated for 282 acres and is envisioned to be gigawatt-scale, potentially featuring three buildings and an on-site substation. This development is situated on land already zoned for data centers by right, aligning with the township's master plan. Panattoni, founded in 2005, has a substantial global portfolio in industrial and logistics development and has recently expanded its focus to the data center market, aiming to develop 1GW of data center capacity in North America by 2030. The project has faced some local opposition, with community members expressing concerns during township meetings.
