The Atmosphere Dickerson Campus, located in Dickerson, Maryland, is a planned Tier III+ data center designed for high-performance computing and AI/ML workloads. The facility will offer 360MW of scalable power, with plans for up to 1,000MW (1GW) across future campuses. Situated on 170 acres zoned for heavy industrial use, the site is strategically positioned just 11 miles north of Data Center Alley in Ashburn, Virginia. It features a dual-feed electrical system, on-site backup generators, and a multi-layered UPS system for 99.999% uptime. The campus will incorporate energy-efficient cooling solutions, including air-cooled systems with N+1 redundancy and options for direct-to-chip and immersion cooling. As a carrier-neutral facility, it provides multiple Tier 1 & 2 providers for high-speed connectivity and direct cloud on-ramps to major providers like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud. The project emphasizes sustainability with potential for up to 99.9% emissions reduction and up to 50% lower energy consumption through advanced cooling. A 2,000MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is also in development adjacent to the site, and carbon-free baseload nuclear energy is available on the grid. The facility aims for speed and scale with modular construction and pre-engineered systems, targeting 30-40% faster build times. PUE is projected to be between 1.08 and 1.10.
