MillCompute LLC has proposed a new Tier III AI data center to be located in the vacant Bates Mill No.3 in downtown Lewiston, Maine. This facility is slated to become the second-largest AI data center in the state. The project plans to occupy the first two floors of the mill, covering approximately 85,000 sq ft (7,896 sqm). The development team for MillCompute includes local leadership and national experts in data center construction, operation, and finance. The proposed data center is expected to generate significant tax revenue for the city and create 20-30 local jobs. The Lewiston City Council is scheduled to vote on the project's approval on December 16.
