Sentinel Datacenters

Sentinel Maine is a proposed data center project located at the site of a former International Paper mill in Jay, Maine. The development, spearheaded by JGT2 Redevelopment in partnership with Sentinel Data Centers, aims to occupy one million square feet of space across two floors of the former paper mill building. This initiative seeks to repurpose the industrial site, which ceased operations in 2023. The project is intended to create significant local employment, with an estimated 800-1,000 construction jobs and 125 permanent positions. The development plans include integrating 150MW of solar energy to power the facility, with the existing gas turbine on-site intended for replacement. However, the project's future is uncertain due to proposed state legislation that could impose a moratorium on new data center developments exceeding 20MW, pending further study of their environmental and resource impacts.
