A developer, Kentucky Industrial Alliance LLC, is challenging a 12-month moratorium on data centers imposed by the City of Cave City, Kentucky. The lawsuit, filed on June 8, seeks to lift the ban, which was implemented after the company submitted plans for a large-scale data center project. The proposed development, located on 380 acres at 2001 Doyle Avenue, was reportedly planned as the Cave Point Commerce Center, potentially featuring ten buildings totaling 2 million sq ft and up to 1.2GW of capacity. Kentucky Industrial Alliance LLC, which owns or leases over 4,000 acres of agricultural land, asserts that the moratorium is unlawful and that decisions should be based on facts and regulations rather than rumors. The case is scheduled for a hearing in July.
