Flint Hills Digital Campus

The Flint Hills Digital Campus is a proposed gigawatt-scale data center development located near Emporia, Kansas, within Emporia’s Industrial Park IV. The project is planned to encompass approximately 1,000 acres. The campus aims to incorporate a combination of dedicated grid infrastructure and on-site generation, though specific details are still emerging. The City of Emporia is currently reviewing requests related to the project, including the establishment of a Digital Infrastructure Overlay District, annexation, and zoning. The project is being put forward by local landowner Gary Pinkston in conjunction with Kanza Park Place, LLC. Discussions surrounding this initiative have been underway since the previous year, with proponents highlighting its potential to attract significant private investment, create numerous construction and permanent jobs, foster local business growth, and enhance the county's tax base.
