Digital Realty Astra North DC1

Digital Realty has acquired approximately 1,440 acres of land at Astra Enterprise Park in DeSoto, Kansas, for hyperscale data center development. The first phase, Astra North, will span 280 acres and is planned to include up to nine buildings with a total of around 3 million sq ft. The campus will feature an on-site substation and has an energy service agreement with local utility Evergy for 600MW of power by early 2028, with potential to reach 2GW. The site will utilize outside air-cooling, supplemented by evaporative cooling during peak heat. The Astra park, formerly the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, is located southwest of Kansas City. Digital Realty plans to fund a new industrial wastewater treatment plant as part of the project.
