KARIS Dubuque

Karis Critical, a national real estate company specializing in logistics, cold storage, and data center development, is reportedly behind a proposed data center project in Dubuque County, Iowa. The company, based in Florida, has a data center platform focused on powered land and development, having assembled over 1,500 acres and 3GW of potential capacity. While Karis has reached out to Dubuque County and the city about a potential project east of the Dubuque Regional Airport, no application has been made. Dubuque County has implemented a 12-month moratorium on data centers to develop an ordinance, following community concerns regarding water quality, property value, utility infrastructure, and economic development. Karis also has other data center projects in development or proposed in Illinois, Ohio, South Carolina, and Alabama.
