Google is developing a $576 million data center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as part of its expansion in the Big Cedar Industrial Center. The project involves the acquisition of 414 acres and is expected to create at least 31 high-quality jobs.

The facility will benefit from Iowa’s strong infrastructure, including affordable wind energy, a stable grid, and extensive telecommunications networks. Google has secured $56 million in tax incentives over 20 years to support the development.

Construction is set to begin within three years, with the data center playing a key role in Google’s cloud and AI expansion. The project aligns with broader industrial growth in Southwest Cedar Rapids, which has attracted over $1 billion in investments since 2017.
