Digital Realty is planning a significant expansion into Indiana with the development of a gigawatt-scale data center campus in Kokomo. Located on 476 acres of greenfield land in the city's Industrial Park North, the campus is slated to feature three single-story data centers. This ambitious project aims to deliver approximately 1GW of IT capacity, spanning an estimated three million sq ft (278,710 sqm) of data center space. The full build-out of the campus is anticipated by 2033. The Kokomo campus will utilize a closed-loop cooling system to optimize water usage. Notably, there will be no tax abatements provided to the developer. This marks Digital Realty's first venture into operating data centers within the state of Indiana.
