Hobart Devco LLC - Building 5

The planned data center campus in Hobart, Indiana, has received approval for rezoning, paving the way for its development. Proposed by Hobart Devco, LLC, the campus will span a 168-acre parcel located on 61st Avenue, approximately half a mile from Colorado Street. The project includes six main buildings, complemented by six smaller support structures and an 11-acre detention pond. To ensure privacy and aesthetic appeal, the campus will feature a raised landscape berm and fencing to screen it from the nearby road.

The site, previously zoned for residential development, has been reclassified as light industrial. This change aligns with the city's comprehensive plan and addresses concerns about traffic and environmental impact. The data center is expected to bring economic benefits to the area, including high-paying jobs and a significant boost to the property tax base. Additionally, the campus design incorporates measures to minimize noise and resource usage, making it a sustainable addition to the region. Hobart's proximity to Chicago and its growing reputation as a hub for data center development further enhance the project's strategic importance.
