Chicago is one the world's top global financial centers and home to three major financial and futures exchanges: the Chicago Stock Exchange, the Chicago Board Options Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Leading financial institutions can access critical low and ultra-low latency colocation for all of the major U.S. and international exchanges in the three Chicago-based Cyxtera data centers. These Chicago facilities offer more than 405,000 square feet of combined space and nearly 52 megawatts of power to support the growing IT needs of the Chicago market. Our CH3 data center near O'Hare Airport features a Tier III Certification from the Uptime Institute, and all three have received the Uptime Institute M&O Stamp of Approval for operational excellence. Two of the three facilities are located in the heart of the financial district and all provide adaptable, logical space protected with financial grade, multi-tier security measures.
Located in the heart of the Chicago Financial District, the Cyxtera CH2 data center is located on the 7th floor of an 8-story building on a fiber-linked campus with our CH4 data center. The building was originally constructed for R.R.Donnelley & Sons Printing in 1912, and the Sears Catalog was printed here until 1993. While it was renovated for data center usage in 1999, the building is historically landmarked and protected. The building is 9 miles from downtown Chicago, 25 minutes from Midway International Airport (MDW) and 30 minutes from O'Hare International Airport (ORD).
