Google has purchased 948.79 acres of rural land in Monroe County, Georgia, located along Rumble Road and I-75. The acquisition, finalized on September 26, 2025, for $42,636,285, is designated for a potential data center. Google stated that while there is no confirmed development timeline, the acquisition secures an option for future business growth.
The site is situated near the Rumble Technology Campus, a development that received zoning approval for 12 data center buildings totaling 4.2 million sq ft. This parcel is part of a broader trend of data center development in Georgia, with a significant concentration around Atlanta. Monroe County is in the central part of the state, and Google already operates a data center campus in Douglas County near Atlanta.
