Serverfarm is planning to develop a new natural gas-powered data center in Covington, Georgia. The project involves converting a 498,960-square-foot warehouse into a state-of-the-art data center.
The facility will initially use natural gas as its primary power source until a new substation is built by Georgia Power. This innovative approach aims to ensure reliable power supply while the substation is under development.
The data center is expected to serve four major clients, although their identities have not been disclosed. Covington, located about 40 miles east of Atlanta, is already home to other major tech companies like Meta and Amazon.
