Digital Realty is planning a two-building data center campus in Forest Park, Georgia, just nine miles south of Atlanta. The project, filed under Digital Fort Gillem LLC, will span 97 acres and include 1.9 million square feet (176,515 sqm) of space, with a total capacity of 200 MW.
The site was previously part of the Gillem Logistics Center, a former US Army base that was repurposed into a business park after Fort Gillem closed in 2011. Digital Realty aims to invest around $2 billion in the development, linking it to its existing Atlanta footprint, which includes three facilities: ATL11, ATL13, and ATL14.
Atlanta is emerging as a major data center hub, with multiple companies—including Google, Microsoft, CoreSite, Switch, and QTS—expanding their presence in the region. Digital Realty’s new campus will further strengthen the city’s role in cloud computing and colocation services.
