A massive data center campus has received zoning approval in Fort Meade, Florida, paving the way for up to 4.4 million square feet of development across 1,163 acres. The project, proposed by Bohler Places LLC, will be located west of US Highway 98 in Polk County, roughly 50 miles east of Tampa.
The land—formerly used for phosphate mining and currently for cattle grazing—is owned by Florida Eco Park, LLC and Polk Industrial Park, LLC, who acquired it in 2018. Due to the city’s land development code lacking provisions for data centers, the site was rezoned to Planned Unit Development (PUD) to accommodate the project.
While the identity of the end user remains undisclosed, the unanimous 5-0 vote by the Fort Meade City Commission signals strong local support. However, no details have been released regarding the number of data centers, power capacity, or construction timeline.
This is a campus listing, that covers multiple data centers.
