We lead our suite of offerings with our Cloud Advisory Services providing expertise in the areas of cloud adoption, architecture strategy, migration roadmaps and integration services. Depending on your requirements, our xStream Cloud Platform can deliver private, multi-tenant or hybrid cloud alternatives, all managed within a single pane of glass. We then maximize your business's productivity with Cloud Cover, a set of managed services tuned to optimize the way your applications run in a cloud. Since we recognize that "one size does not fit all", we also provide Cloud Staging & Network Services geared towards colocating physical assets running workloads deemed unsuitable for the cloud yet needing to interact heavily with applications that are running in it. This allows your organization to adapt at its own pace while ensuring integrity, security and performance throughout the transformation.
Virtustream owns and operates its own data centers in the U.S. and U.K., and has offices in Washington, D.C., New York, San Francisco, Atlanta, London, Dublin and the Channel Islands.
The challenge facing organizations that choose to leverage the benefits of Cloud computing - and any forward-thinking technology - is how to develop, formulate and actualize tangible benefits when knowledge and real world experience in this strategic arena are at an absolute premium.
Virtustream has a decade of experience helping enterprises transform their existing assets to function in a cloud environment. We are one of the few providers who has developed industry leading IP, and from it, built and operationalized an IP intensive platform named xStream. The xStream platform already serves thousands of users around the world across six global nodes. The majority of these users are running production applications in a mission critical environment alongside the Test & Development environments that support them. We also understand that applications behave differently in a cloud environment and we are one of the few providers able to optimize these applications so that they run at peak performance after the transition. This is especially true for ERP and legacy applications.
The xStream platform leverages our patent pending Infrastructure Unit to provision, manage and guarantee compute resources. The Infrastructure Unit is derived from normalizing 10 years of client workload statistics across a broad range of applications to define a granular work unit comprised of memory, CPU, I/O and bandwidth. By abstracting at this level we are able to deliver compute services independent of the virtual machine, hypervisor or hardware platform.
Our business model is simple. You create your own blend of fixed and variable costs based upon how much you choose to pre-purchase versus buy on demand.
Our people are recognized as leaders and innovators in their field and, as such, participate in industry defining advisory councils including Distributed Management Task Force, the Open Data Center Alliance, VMware's Partner Technical Advisory Board and the SAP Technology Advisory Board.
Additionally, Virtustream has been honored consistently in the industry collecting accolades including the ICT Excellence Award- Green IT Initiative of the Year, VMware Professional Services Partner of the Year, VMware EMEA Partner of the Year, IBM Mid Market Partner of the Year, IBM Technical Excellence Award, AlwaysOn East Coast Top 100 and most recently the 2010 Fortune Magazine Top 500/5000.
