845 Market Street

KG Growth Partners is evaluating the former San Francisco City Centre Mall at 845 Market Street for a potential data center development. This project is intended to serve an unnamed AI lab and may also include offices and a public AI exhibit. The proposed data center would occupy a 350,000 sq ft portion of the mall, formerly occupied by Bloomingdale's. The mall, which closed in January 2026, totals 1.8 million sq ft of retail and office space. While a deal for the Bloomingdale's portion is reportedly valued around $40 million, no application has been filed with the city, and the status of any deal remains unclear. San Francisco officials have recently approved a 45-day data center moratorium to study the impact of such facilities on communities.
