Manchester Financial Group

Manchester Financial Group is considering a significant data center development at the former Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) site in San Diego, California. The proposed project targets a 70-acre plot and aims for a capacity of 400MW.

This initiative is part of a larger redevelopment plan for the Navy Old Town Campus, where Manchester Financial Group, in partnership with Edgemoor Infrastructure and Real Estate, was selected by the Navy for a 99-year lease. The agreement includes providing new offices for NAVWAR, replacing aging World War II-era facilities.

While full details of the data center project are not yet finalized, Manchester Financial Group, a San Diego-based firm founded in 1970 specializing in hotel and commercial property, would be entering the data center market for the first time. The site's redevelopment has faced scrutiny from local officials who advocate for housing and mixed-use development over industrial facilities like data centers.
