The Calvert Infrastructure Hub, developed by Beacon AI Centers, is a planned next-generation data center located on a 650-acre site in Calvert, Alabama. This 95-acre development aims to bring substantial economic benefits to the Gulf Coast region, including up to 1,000 construction jobs and 250 permanent operational roles with an average salary of $115,000. The facility is designed with a strong emphasis on responsible development, utilizing a closed-loop water system and avoiding backup diesel generators to eliminate on-site emissions. Power will be sourced from Alabama Power's existing transmission backbone, with the project covering associated costs and ensuring no impact on community energy bills. The site is strategically positioned with primary access from Highway 43 and secondary access from Shepard House Road. Environmental considerations include preserving the majority of the land, minimizing wetland impact, and designing access roads to be above floodplain elevation. Noise levels are projected to be minimal, comparable to a household refrigerator. The first building is slated for completion in 2027.
