Deep Green’s DG02 York data center is a modular 500kW facility under development adjacent to the York Stadium Leisure Complex in Huntington. Occupying a 150 sqm footprint, it will deliver high-density compute using a mix of air and direct-to-chip cooling technologies.
What makes DG02 particularly innovative is its integration with the neighboring leisure center: the data center’s waste heat will be captured and repurposed to warm the swimming pool, significantly reducing the facility’s energy costs and carbon footprint. The system will use underground pipes and cables to transfer heat, creating a symbiotic relationship between digital infrastructure and community services.
The site will include chillers, air coolers, and a backup generator, all housed within an acoustic enclosure at the edge of the complex’s car park. This project aligns with Deep Green’s broader mission to deploy sustainable, distributed compute infrastructure across the UK and beyond.
