The facility was purpose built to use for our own infrastructure .

The Data Centre is situated within the secure campus at Hellaby near Rotherham with 24*7*365 security presence. The building is monitored with CCTV and access to the datacenter is controlled via an access swipe card system and biometrics. It currently services five clients and has been in operation since January 2013. The data centre has complete dual network connectivity through two independent exchanges and can also offer N3 connectivity. When considering the power capacity, fire suppression and air conditioning capabilities the data centre can be considered between Tier 2 and Tier 3 in Data Centre Tier Standards.

The building totals circa 12,000 square feet with a main data hall of approximately 7,000 sq. ft. and an expansion area of 3,000 sq. ft., which can either be integrated in to the main hall or operated as a separate data hall. In addition there are ancillary rooms housing the transformer and associated plant (UPS, batteries etc.). The building has a power supply of 1Mw which can be increased if necessary and is served by four carriers, BT, Verizon, Virgin and Cable & Wireless

The primary services offered by the data centre today are rack space, power and connectivity. We have, via a partner, a limited Managed Service offering, however this is under review at this time. As such the core market propositions are :-

Colocation - the provision of resilient power and cooling in a fit for purpose secure and resilient data centre. Smaller requirements are generally sold as a number of racks with a defined power draw and priced on an all-inclusive basis per kW per month. Larger requirements are priced on a sq. ft. basis with a defined density of power (1,500 watts per sq. m is the average) and the costs of power are recovered as an additional charge.

Connectivity - There are diverse fibre routes from the local BT exchanges at Wickersley and Maltby and consequently we are in a position to provide a fully resilient solution without major capital expenditure. connections to POP sites in London and Manchester.

Disaster Recovery . Located outside of the flood plane with 24*7*365 security presence. The building is monitored with CCTV and access to the datacenter is controlled via an access swipe card system and biometrics. Multiple power supply and fully diverse connectivity providers on site .
