The Longmarsh Green Energy project in King's Lynn, UK, proposes a significant data center development with a capacity of up to 1GW. This facility will be powered by an adjacent, large-scale solar farm, potentially generating up to 1.3GW, making it the UK's largest of its kind. The developer, Evolution Power Limited (EPL), has stated the data center will utilize a closed-loop cooling system to minimize water consumption. Battery storage is also planned for the site, with connections to an existing substation. The project is considered nationally significant under UK planning law. EPL, a UK-based renewable energy developer, anticipates the project could be operational by 2032, creating substantial employment opportunities.
