Plans are underway to redevelop the former Ferodo factory site in Caernarfon, North Wales, into a new data center campus. The application submitted to Gwynedd Council details a comprehensive redevelopment, including the demolition of existing structures and the construction of data center buildings and substations. Some documents refer to the project as Bryn Coch Business Park. Site plans indicate the potential for up to five buildings on the Caernarfon Road location, with the site possibly covering up to 300,000 sqm (3.32 million sq ft). The former Ferodo factory, established in 1962, produced automotive components. The 40-acre site was acquired in 2008 after the plant's closure, with previous redevelopment plans, including a 'super prison', not materializing. The 125,000 sq ft (11,610 sqm) building and site were listed for sale or lease.
