The proposed data center in Iver, Buckinghamshire, is set to transform a former landfill site into a modern facility. The project, led by Sequence (Iver) UK Ltd, aims to construct a two-story building spanning 15,490 square meters, offering 48MW of IT capacity. Additionally, a 150MW substation will be developed to support operations. The site, located near the M25 and Slough Road, has historically been used for waste disposal but is now being repurposed for technological infrastructure.
Sequence (Iver) UK Ltd is a joint venture between Astra Partners Ltd and Valore Group, both of which have experience in real estate and data center development. The team behind this project has previously worked on the Kildare Innovation Campus in Ireland, a significant tech hub. While Iver is not traditionally known for data center developments, the area is seeing increased interest from companies such as Segro, CorScale, and Amazon, driven by government initiatives to open more land for such projects.
The development aligns with broader trends in the UK, where data center expansion is becoming a priority. The project is expected to contribute to the growing demand for digital infrastructure while utilizing land that was previously underutilized. As more companies look to establish data centers in the region, Iver may emerge as a new hotspot for technological investment and innovation.
