Southside Data Centre Building 2

The Southside Data Centre Campus, proposed by Sunlaws Development Company on land owned by the Roxburghe Estate near Duns, Scotland, is a 151-hectare development planned to comprise three two-story data center buildings and a substation. The campus aims to offer 225MW of capacity, with construction potentially starting in 2029 for a 2030 launch. The project emphasizes a sustainable design, leveraging the area's environmental, energy, and communications assets, including proximity to wind farms and a 400kV substation for energy security. High-speed data connections and low-carbon cooling are also key features. The development is expected to provide regional economic benefits through job creation and community wealth building initiatives. An Environmental Impact Assessment is underway, with public engagement planned to address community concerns.
