Apatura Coldstream

Apatura is planning a 300MW hyperscale data center campus near Coldstream, Scotland, through its affiliate Apatura DC Project 3 Ltd. The proposed site spans 69 hectares of greenfield land and will include up to 70,000 square meters of data center buildings, a 500MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), an on-site substation, and roof-mounted solar panels. Once construction begins, the build is expected to take around three years.

The project is positioned along the Scottish border with England and benefits from access to grid infrastructure and renewable energy integration. Apatura’s proposal has passed early environmental review, with the local council determining that a full Environmental Impact Assessment is not required before planning submission. However, they noted that the scale of the project will still demand extensive review during the application phase.
