West Sleekburn Data Centre Campus
Visit WebsiteWansbeck Regeneration Ltd has filed plans to develop the West Sleekburn Data Centre Campus on a 28-hectare site in Northumberland, United Kingdom. The proposed campus, located northwest of High Brocklands in West Sleekburn, is slated to encompass up to 356,500 square meters (3.8 million sq ft).
The development is expected to include three data center buildings and two on-site substations. Initial plans envisioned four buildings with a total capacity of 451MW, but these were revised during the pre-application phase. The project also includes plans for 90MW of natural gas-powered fuel cells, intended to provide approximately 50MW of IT load capacity as a temporary solution until the site is fully operational.
The site was formerly part of the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This development is situated approximately one mile north of QTS's planned data center campus at the former Blyth Power Station.
