Informatics Engineering Services Limited launched its purpose-built data center in 2015, establishing one of the largest and most advanced facilities in the Caribbean and Latin America. Located in central Trinidad, the center supports co-location services and houses the company’s sales, technical, NOC, and administrative operations. It was designed and commissioned entirely by Informatics, with support from Schneider Electric, and meets Tier III standards for high availability and concurrent maintenance.
The facility features robust infrastructure including redundant Symmetra PX250 UPS systems, dual 300 kW generators, and three Carrier chilled-water chillers, ensuring 99.98% uptime. Continuous environmental monitoring and 24/7 oversight by Informatics’ in-house NOC team provide clients with reliable and secure hosting solutions. Phase 1 of the center was fully occupied by Digicel-Trinidad, utilizing 46 racks with power capacities ranging from 0 to 9 kW each.
A standout feature of the data center is its FirePASS Hypoxic Fire Prevention system—the first of its kind in the region. This technology proactively prevents fire by maintaining oxygen levels below combustion thresholds while remaining safe for human occupancy. Informatics is now the authorized regional distributor for FirePASS, reinforcing its commitment to safety, innovation, and uninterrupted service delivery.
