Google's Winschoten Data Center is a new facility under development in the municipality of Oldambt in the province of Groningen, Netherlands. Construction officially began in early 2022 on the large data center campus located near the village of Winschoten, close to the German border.

The Winschoten data center is being built on a 44-hectare (109-acre) site that Google acquired for €26.5 million ($28.5 million). It will be one of Google's largest cloud data centers once completed, with the potential to expand to support multiple data center buildings over time.

Designed for high energy efficiency, the Winschoten campus will be supplied power from the nearby Sunpark Delfzijl solar farm owned by Groningen Seaports. This renewable energy will help Google make progress towards its commitments around operating carbon-free by 2030.
The first phase will include at least one data center building providing capacity for Google's cloud services. Renderings depict a large multipurpose hub in addition to the data centers. Google is investing €1.1 billion in this hyperscale cloud region to enhance its infrastructure footprint across Europe.
