NorthC has announced plans to build a new regional data center at the uptownBasel Innovation Campus in Arlesheim, Switzerland. The facility will support advanced technologies including AI, quantum computing, diagnostics, and personalized medicine, reinforcing the campus’s role as a digital innovation hub.
Construction is expected to begin roughly 18 months after the building permit is granted, with operations slated to start by mid-2027. The first phase will cover 2,500 square meters and deliver 6 MVA of power capacity, fully sourced from renewable energy.
The data center will feature green diesel backup systems and incorporate waste heat reuse for residential heating, aligning with NorthC’s goal of climate neutrality by 2030. This project expands NorthC’s footprint in Switzerland, complementing its existing sites in Münchenstein and strengthening its infrastructure support for MedTech and Industry 4.0 in the Basel region.
