UNIZAR Backup Data Center

The University of Zaragoza is investing approximately 1.5 million euros to construct two new data centers, a primary facility and a backup, to enhance its technological infrastructure. The main data center will be located on the ground floor of the Mathematics building at the San Francisco campus. The backup data center will be situated in the basement of the Betancourt building at the Río Ebro campus, both in Zaragoza, Spain. The project includes the conditioning of spaces, installation of electrical and IT rooms, new racks, climate control equipment, and a centralized monitoring system for critical infrastructures to ensure service continuity across both sites. The funding for this initiative is entirely provided by the Government of Aragon. The university aims to improve efficiency, security, and availability of its data processing services.
